What is OVPN?
OVPN is a service that offers virtual private network. This means that everything you do online is protected through, among other things, encrypted tunnels that the traffic passes through, and that your IP address is changed so that you cannot be tracked.

Is OVPN secure?
The most relevant question when it comes to the decision to use a VPN. Is VPN secure? There are tons of different services out there and it’s important to compare them. There can be a lot of difference between them in both price, security, speed or ease of use. We at VPNS retrieve the most relevant information when we review a service.
OVPN uses AES-256-GCM. This is one of the best encryption algorithms in the VPN context.
They also run all your servers without hard drives to ensure no logs are saved. They can do this because the operating system is only in RAM.
This is very unusual in the VPN industry and an extra security for you of course.
All the hardware they use is their own.

How many servers does OVPN have?
It is not clear exactly how many servers they have but around 90. There are servers in a total of 26 countries. This is a very low number when we compare with other sites.
With that information, we can state that the connection could be a little slower than those with more. Their motivation for not expanding is because many countries have different laws and regulations. This means that you cannot really monitor security. They also mean that you don’t need to have 300 different servers to choose from – if you ask us, we would answer – Yes, some do.
It all depends on what you intend to use your VPN for. If you only want to use your VPN to surf the net anonymously and scroll around, you don’t need more servers. However, if you want to get around geoblocking in all countries, you obviously need it.
Does OVPN work for IPTV?
Since OVPN does not have many servers, the speed is quite slow. It is usually the case that the more number of servers you have in a country, the higher speeds you can get. In terms of security, we could recommend OVPN as they do not log any information about you. If you can’t bear to wait more than 15 seconds when you want to connect, we understand if you choose from another provider. Does it work on netflix or svtplay?

You can absolutely test which server is best for the purpose you will have it for. However, we believe that if you pay for a service, it should not make any noticeable difference. We were able to access the content on both sites, but the connection and speed were not top notch.
There are tons of services you can get around with a VPN. We also tested the BBC player with the same results. The best tip we can give is therefore to place yourself in New York. Most likely this server is faster as it is closer to your actual location. Of course, length has a small significant role in the whole thing. How many devices can I connect?
If you choose the 1-month subscription, you can connect 1 device. If you choose one of the other options, you can have up to 4 devices connected at the same time. It is important to know that you may not share access to your subscription with devices other than your own. If OVPN discovers that you do, they can debit your account to repay your money.
We think the number of devices to connect is somewhat small. Many other VPN clients can offer 5 and up.
However, there is a way to be able to use multiple devices. OVPN collaborates with Dustin who sells a router called Vilfo. Vilfo makes sure you can be safe online while still being able to reach speeds up to 600 Mbit / s.

Does OVPN have a support if problems occur?
There is a support that we have tested. Unfortunately, there is no phone number to reach them on, but we have received relatively quick help anyway. There is a chat box on the website. This is located in the bottom right corner and it pops up after a while when you have surfed around the page. They clearly state if they are not available but that they will get back to you as soon as they can. We wrote to it once in the evening and received a reply before 10 the day before. Also tried to write in the middle of the day during their “opening hours” It then took them about 4 hours to respond. Here one could of course have wished for a faster response.
If you don’t want to sit with the chat, they also have a contact form on the website. There, however, you need to fill in your email to have the answer sent there. When you register with them, you do not have to provide your email because of more security for you. As soon as you fill in your email, they will need to save this information. This is because they are located precisely in Portugal and must save this in view of the Personal Data Act.

Does OVPN have a kill switch?

OVPN would have been higher on our list if they had fixed some things.
First of all, we at VPNS do not believe that smaller servers in fewer countries than average is a good thing. We understand what they mean considering the laws and regulations of other countries, this enhances their security. What it affects is their speed and this is an equally important function. Today, we depend on everything to go quickly, smoothly and easily. The fact that you have to sit and adjust according to which server you have to choose is cumbersome. We think they have gained by expanding with a little more country and more servers in the countries they are already in.
There is also a somewhat low number of devices that can be connected. Granted, you can buy the router that opens up more devices.
