Geo-blocking is something that we Swedes encounter more and more often, and this is due to a lot of new laws. And the truth is that in the future there will hardly be less of this commodity. Our authorities try to “protect” us as it is called, and introduce a lot of different laws that, among other things, for American websites make it almost completely impossible to be able to operate to a European audience. Why do Geo-blocks work?
In short, it is usually not entirely voluntary that services and sites put so-called GEO-blocks, but they sometimes have to do it for legal reasons but also for rights reasons many times. How to get around geo-blocks with a VPN?

This type of blocking works so that the service/website you are visiting checks where your ip address is from, and in this way determines which country you are visiting their website from. Once they can determine where you’re from, you’re either let in, or they notice you’re from a country they’re not allowed to work against.
With a VPN service, you simply connect to a VPN server in the country where the service or website comes from, and in this way deceive them that you who visit them are also from there. This is very easy to do, and it’s all done by turning on your VPN app. Once it’s turned on, select which server you want to run your VPN tunnel against, and you’re now ready to visit the site/service.
